History, Gold Country Roots, and Live Music
Housed in a building with roots dating back to 1859, Tofanelli's carries forward a rich Gold Country history. The space once operated as a grocery store and meat market in the 1890s, and the original overhead hook trolley system and massive walk-in refrigerator are still part of the restaurant today. The award-winning patio now occupies the former site of Freeman's Bakery, creating a unique blend of historic charm and inviting outdoor dining.
Today, the patio serves not only as a popular dining spot but also as a relaxed setting for live music and local entertainment, making Tofanelli's a favorite gathering place in Downtown Grass Valley.
