Nevada City Rocks! Is designed to be much more than just a calendar.
The Nevada City area Music and Arts community, from performance art to creative fine art,
is one of the most vibrant you’ll find anywhere.
The website facilitates discovery and exploration of arts and performance activities in our area,
and provides detailed profiles and photos for Artists, Venues, Hosts, and specific Events.
Signed up members can participate by interacting with artists, performers, and other members.
Members can post and promote events, and can contribute photos to event albums to
chronicle successful events and shows.
You can RSVP to events to let hosts and others know you will be attending,
and to arrange meetings with your friends.
Profiles with photos and galleries and comments help you discover new artists and venues, and make new friends.
Cross links to other related Artists and Venues help you discover events and activities you would otherwise miss.
The site has lists and full profiles with photos for:
- All performing artists and fine artists
- All venues
- All Hosts (open mic, karaoke, concerts, and more)
- All Events (simple listing or a full promotional listing with posters)
All lists and profiles cross link to related artists, venues, hosts, and events.
From any list or profile, you can link to other related profiles.
For example, if you are looking at an event, you will be able to link to the artist(s) performing at the event,
to the venue where the event will be held, and to the host if relevant.
For a specific event, you can link through to the artist, and you will see all
other events for that artist. You wil see the venue for the event, and you can link through to the venue,
where you will see see all events being held at the venue.
The same cross links are available for any of the profile types.
Each profile may have one or more photo galleries to help promote the artist, venue, host, or event.
Events are archived, and photo galleries may be uploaded. An option may allow comments and memories to be posted for the event.

The site has membership capability. Non-members can view all events and information,
but only members can contribute events and profiles.
There is a Member Console and profile page with relevant settings that can
be applied to each member (for example, privacy settings).
Because this is a real-world community, real names will be encouraged, but not required.
Members can create their own photo Galleries for events that they attend.
Events will be archived, so people can view previous events by an artist, or at a venue, or by a host.
Members can contribute photos of an event to an “event” gallery,
which will be available for the archived event.
Events can specify RSVP, ticket price, sold out, etc. Event posters may be uploaded.
Members can “follow” Artists, and receive notification and reminders for that Artist’s upcoming events
Members can “follow” Venues, and receive notification and reminders for that Venue’s upcoming events
Members can “follow” Hosts, and receive notification and reminders for that Host’s upcoming events
There will be a support forum where members can help each other navigate the site and learn how to contribute.
Support requests will go to the forum, and can be answered by members or by Admins.
