Influences, Experience & Expression
Mike's original music draws from a wide range of instrumental influences, often led by expressive electric guitar. His compositions move fluidly between progressive 70s-style experimentation, cinematic soundscapes, and concise, melodic themes.
As a guitarist, producer/composer, and educator, Mike is known for his versatility and open-minded approach. He is highly responsive to client needs, with a fast learning style that allows him to adapt quickly to new material and creative environments.
Raised in an artistic household, Mike began performing, recording, and studying music in his teens. He later graduated from Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, studying under accomplished musicians. He co-authored a guitar curriculum distributed with Fender products nationwide and contributed educational content for Guitar Center.
Mike has worked or performed with artists including Keith Urban, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), members of The Offspring and No Doubt, Steve Vai, Johnny Farina, members of Tower of Power, Gene Chandler, The Dubs, Billy Foster and the Medallions, The Heartbreakers, Rochell & the Candles, and The Chantels.
He is inspired by music's ability to connect people to their essence and uplift the heart.
